The Warehouse Production Laborer will grade, purchase, and sort all types of copper, aluminum, brass, steel, etc. This fast-paced role requires efficient multi-tasking to handle customers at a number of platform and truck scales. Buyer will assist unloading trucks, effectively learn the yard layout and move metal around on a fork truck. Must be familiar with and adhere to service requirements, equipment and operator limitations and safe operating procedures at all times. A high level of customer service and a willingness to learn about various metals and their value are a must. Performs other duties as directed by management.

Essential Job Functions:
- Weigh incoming material brought in by customers.
- Sort incoming material into appropriate bins.
- Grade, purchase, and sort material.
- Assist unloading trucks.
- Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
- Conducts pre-shift safety inspection of equipment. Ensures proper maintenance.
- Operates and/or drives equipment as required.
- Supplies production facility and/or stockpiles raw feed or finished products.
- Build loads for delivery.
- Operates forklift and skid steer.
- Keeps management aware of any delays or discrepancies.
- Keeps yard clean, well-organized and safe.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED, preferred.
- Industry experience in scrap, metal preferred
- Ability to work inside or outside as required
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
- Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills; must be willing to cross-train on other equipment
- Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, Saturdays 8:00am - 11:30am. Overtime and weekends will be scheduled as required.
